A tribute to Linda Moore on her retirement

Monday, June 29, 2020

Linda Moore began working at Seagull Services as a case manager in 1994. In a career spanning more than 25 years with the agency, she has held numerous administrative roles. But she always kept the needs of the program participants close to her heart.

With Moore’s retirement this month, Seagull Services pays tribute to her for a career of dedicated service to the agency’s program participants and all individuals with developmental disabilities.  Moore will retire on June 30, 2020.

During her career, she has served as a case manager, Director of Program Services, Assistant Executive Director, school principal, Chief Operating Officer, and acting CEO.

“I met Linda 22 years ago when I started at Seagull as a social worker,” said Joyce Hambrick, Director of Program Services. “Linda loves the well-being of our participants and will walk a mile to address their needs. If she cannot make it happen, she finds resources to assist them.”

Perhaps her most visible role was as long-time principal of Seagull Academy for Independent Living, which opened in 2002. Moore traditionally welcomed the students on each year’s first day and celebrated their milestones at each year’s graduation.

“She is a great mentor and role model as a leader,” said Amy Brown, who succeeded Moore as principal in 2019. “Her dedication to the clients and students and the growth of the agency is paramount.”

Last year as acting CEO, Moore organized celebrations to mark Seagull Services 40th Anniversary, including a picnic for the program participants and a staff recognition event.

Seagull Services’ board of directors, staff, and program participants extend their gratitude to Linda Moore for her heartfelt service and wish her the best in retirement.
