Seagull Academy Prom, made possible by spaghetti!

This spring, Seagull Academy’s multi-purpose room was transformed with brilliant teal and gold lights and sparkling white table linens for the school’s annual prom.  About 50 students and alumni, clad in party finery, enjoyed the evening of dinner and dancing.

The brilliance shone because of the efforts of so many volunteers and supporters – and another evening of dining and dancing that helped to make it all possible.  About a month earlier, close to 200 family members, and guests took part in Seagull’s annual Spaghetti Supper that helped raise money to make the prom possible.

“Our Spaghetti Supper has become an opportunity for the entire Seagull family and the community to get together for a great meal and desert, some music and dancing, and good old-fashioned camaraderie,” said SAIL Principal Linda Moore.  “But it also provides us the support we need to put on a top notch prom at SAIL each year.”

The casual supper was a family affair as parents, siblings, and other family and friends joined teens from Dreyfoos School for the Performing Arts and Seagull Academy for pasta, salad, bread, and other dishes.  Texas Roadhouse of Boynton Beach helped feed the crowd, and Johnson’s Custom Cakes made sure no one left without dessert.

A raffle and silent auction offered more than 25 prizes including restaurant gift certificates, event tickets, and gift baskets made possible by numerous generous supporters.

“We are so thankful to everyone who helps to make the Spaghetti Supper successful, because that’s what makes our prom so memorable,” Moore said.
