Dan Stanislawczyk Named New CEO

WEST PALM BEACH, Fl., June 11, 2019 - The Board of Directors of Seagull Services announced today that it has chosen Dan Stanislawczyk as the agency’s new President and CEO.

Stanislawczyk will lead Seagull Services’ various programs for adults and students with developmental disabilities, enabling them to realize their full potential through education, training, employment and community integration. Stanislawczyk also will oversee Seagull Academy for Independent Living (SAIL), the agency’s charter school for middle and high school students with developmental disabilities and its Business Services program that provides packaging, light assembly and other services to businesses nationwide.

“We are excited to welcome Dan to Seagull Services, and we are confident that he will carry forward the great work that Seagull has provided to the community over the past 40 years, supporting and serving students and adults with developmental disabilities,” said Laura Fowler, Chair of Seagull Services Board of Directors. “Dan’s substantial experience with special populations and charter schools will help guide Seagull to meet the future needs of its program participants,” she said.

Stanislawczyk has more than two decades of service to adolescents and adults in special populations, including an extensive background operating a charter and private school support service company. As a business and educational consultant, he has conducted training and professional development in organizational leadership, business development, and workforce development. He has overseen several private and charter schools in Florida and served on several boards and accrediting agencies.

He discovered his passion for working with special populations early in his career while teaching secondary education and working with students with disabilities. His passion in working with special populations led him to a role as Director of Accountability with the state of North Carolina for the North Carolina State School for the Deaf in Morganton.

Stanislawczyk holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Scranton and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Capella University. He has been recognized for his commitment to the community and leadership by Rotary International as a two-time recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award.

Stanislawczyk lives in Lake Worth Beach with his wife, Melinda, and their three children.

U.S. Rep. Brian Mast tours Seagull Services

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. May 31, 2019 - U.S. Rep. Brian Mast was in Palm Beach County on Friday for a tour of Seagull Services.

Mast was welcomed by Board Chair Laura Fowler and Interim CEO Linda Moore, who led a tour and information session at Seagull’s headquarters north of Blue Heron Boulevard.

“We’re very grateful for you taking time to visit Seagull and learn about our programs,” Fowler told Mast.

Seagull is celebrating 40 years in service to adults and students with developmental disabilities in Palm Beach and Martin counties, but faces challenges as state and local dollars for special needs programs fall short of providing for all who need the programs, Fowler said.

The 45-minute tour included a visit with participants in Seagull Services’ Adult Day Program as well as with participants in Seagull’s Business Services Division that provides packaging, shipping and other fulfillment services to numerous private businesses in contract with the agency.

Mast joined Seagull’s leadership team following the tour to discuss issues, including the need for greater funding and ongoing efforts at finding employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.
